Lotus Fusion Belly Dance was founded by Faaridah in 2018, following a mesmerizing performance with her students at Nicola's Lebanese Restaurant on October 18, 2018. Inspired by the magic of that evening and the shared passion for belly dance, Faaridah envisioned creating a space at Atlanta Fusion Belly Dance where dancers of all levels could come together as a studio collective of artists, each on their unique journey with belly dance. Faaridah drew from her experiences, skills, and passion for dance to shape the vision and goals of Lotus Fusion Dance Ensemble. She envisioned a space where dancers of all backgrounds and levels could come together to learn, grow, and express themselves through movement.
Mission Statement:
Lotus Fusion Dance Ensemble is dedicated to celebrating diversity and promoting cultural exchange through the art of belly dance. We aim to inspire, educate, and empower both our dancers and our community through creative expression, collaboration, and a commitment to excellence.
Vision:
Our vision is to be a leading force in the belly dance community, recognized for our innovative choreography, technical proficiency, and inclusive approach to the art form. We strive to foster a supportive and nurturing environment where dancers can grow both as artists and individuals, while contributing positively to the cultural landscape of Atlanta and beyond.
AUDITIONS: WEDNESDAY JUNE 26, 2024 7:00PM ET!!
CALLING ALL DANCERS: Atlanta-based beginner to intermediate level dancers skilled in a variety of Belly dance stylizations are invited to apply to join the Lotus Fusion Dance Ensemble. Please complete the Dancer Registration Form by 11pm ET Friday, June 21, 2024, in order to attend the audition on Wednesday, June 26 at 7:00pm ET at Atlanta Fusion Dance 5522 New Peachtree Road, Chamblee, GA 30341. Faaridah and Atlanta Fusion Belly Dance staff will conduct the audition and assess applicants.
Audition Process:
During our 90-minute audition you will be evaluated on intermediate level belly dance technique (hip contractions, ribcage circles, shimmies, layering, dance movement/traveling across the floor), combinations, and a short choreography. You will learn a new 1-minute choreography during the audition process that you will be expected to perform at the end of the audition (performance will be closed – only the evaluator(s) will be in the room).

Training & Mentoring! Group and individual training, dance critique and plans for those interested in taking their dance even further!

Commitment Includes:
Weekly and consistent attendance in Atlanta Fusion Dance classes
Active participation in weekly rehearsals
$50 monthly dues (this covers weekly exclusive Lotus Fusion choreographies,
and rehearsal time at Atlanta Fusion)
A spirit of learning and continuous development

A: Yes, dancers must be at least 21 years old
Q: Can you tell me what the audition process will look like?
A: A short warm up, led by troupe director, Faaridah followed by belly dance technique drills, dance combinations and a short choreography
Q: What if I cant make it to auditions this time, when will auditions be held again?
A: Auditions will take place in June and January annually.
